To quote my boy Mohamad El Masri regarding the way the mainstream media is covering this. The story should be WTF, this is an outrage. The story is WTF. What I am watching on CNN. ( A sentence that should make all of you question my intelligence level.) Is airtime given 95% to law enforcement officers who are condemning the shocking violence in the streets. They are speaking in gross, post colonial, paternalistic tones... Like your parents did when you got caught skipping school. Yeah, people are pissed and acting crazy. Some one just got off free as a bird for murdering one of their neighbors. Wouldnt YOU be mad if someone shot YOUR neighbor 6 times and nobody was held accountable? Officials are disappointed ... hahaha A guy on CNN just said officials are disappointed. Especially because of recent attempts made to unite the community hahahaha Wanna know a good way to unite community and calm race relations? 1) Police should stop murdering unarmed black people. 2) When an unarmed black person is murdered by police, have a trial to see if the shooting was justified. Just... have a trial. Please.... Pretty please? 3)Hire police officers whos race reflect the community they are allegedly serving. politifact/punditfact/statements/2014/aug/17/andrea-mitchell/ferguson-police-department-has-50-white-officers-t/ Mitchell said Ferguson has three black officers and 50 white officers with a town that is 67 percent African-American. Ya THINK your town MIGHT have race relation problems under these conditions? In short, if you stop acting racist, harassing black people, pulling them over randomly, murdering them, not hiring them on your police force etc, you will likely improve race relations. Is this really rocket science? Im a marginally employed actor from Canada with a BA in Communications and I figured this out on facebook...
