To return a bill of no indictment last night in Ferguson is unforgivable beyond belief, and is in fact an all-encompassing indictment of our American criminal system itself, and the states/governments ability to circumvent it! A Grand Jury is conducted by the States Attorney (or Attorney General, if Federal) ONLY, and he or she ALONE decides what evidence is introduced to the GJ, based on evidence that best supports the States CASE in order to achieve an indictment! It has NOTHING to do with the actual merits of the case, which play out after the defendant is indicted; he or she pleads not guilty, and the case proceeds with trial, where both sides put on evidence, cross-examine witnesses, and argue opening and closing statements to a judge and 12 person jury of the defendants peers. Its common humor in legal circles that if a state or government wants: they could indict a ham sandwich - the sad truth is its TRUE.......so what happened tonight? Martin and JFK are rolling in their graves - my God, its 2016; not 1958.
