To run an efficient and profitable business you must prioritize - TopicsExpress

To run an efficient and profitable business you must prioritize tasks and attend to those with the most profit potential first. Use your “To-Do” list to help you focus on which tasks to do first: • Determine the potential profit of each task on your list and write the amount next to the task. • Sort the list in descending order (highest dollar amount at the top and the lowest amount at the bottom). • Draw a line through the middle of your list, so that the most important (profitable) tasks are above the line and the least important are below the line. • Spend 4 days a week working on the top half of the list. Start with the first task and complete it before moving on to the next one. If you can’t finish the task for some reason, put it on hold and move on to the next item. • Spend 1 day each week working on the tasks in the lower half of your list. Do the best you can, and realize that these tasks may remain on your list for some time before you can complete them. • Reevaluate the bottom half of your list each week. Drop those tasks which no longer need your attention. Using this method of prioritizing tasks will allow you to become more efficient and increase your income.
