To say that Man U has become one of the ordinary teams in EPL - TopicsExpress

To say that Man U has become one of the ordinary teams in EPL will be stating the obvious based on its luck lustre performance in the three matches it had played so far. Their game today against the whipping team of the EPL further confirms this assertion. Burnley are third to the bottom and today they managed a draw with Almighty Man U. In fact is not the because it drew with Burnley, but that Burnley had more goal attempts and could have wrapped up the game in the first half hitting the wood work once. Honestly Man U coach has to work on the teams creative ability. With the arrays of qualitative midfielders available on parade, its unbelievable that they hardly make killers passes that could be slotted in the net by their strikers. Through out the duration of the match, the duo of van persie and Rooney have to fall back to pick up balls because of lack of service from the midfielders. The midfielders have to also open up the spaces by masterfully dribbling their ways in the opponents vital area and that is not happening. Their defence is so shaky that when they meet teams with qualitative strikers, they will be torn apart. The coach needs qualitative centre half backs or work extra hard on the available ones. Come to think of it when i compare the money spent on Man U players vis a vis that of Swansea that defeated them at home and Burnley who secured a draw against them, I wonder why the elites teams spent so much money with a little difference between them and the low budget teams. Just take glimpse at the money spent on stars of Man U. Di Maria:£75m, Rooney £25.6m, Juan Mata: £37.1m, Van Persie: 24m, Ashley Young: £20m. The total amount spent on only 4 players is £181.7m. This doesnt include their wages that run into millions of pounds each year! The entire money spent on new players by Burnley and their is not up to £10m, yet they played better than the more than £2000m team of Man U! Similarly, the match between Man U and stoke city was equally an anti climax as stoke defeated the reigning champions of EPL by 1-0. It cost Sheik Mansour £1b to assemble the arrays of stars in the Man city squad who were defeated by a stoke city squad that is not up to 1% of the total budget of Man city! It think its time now that these club owners should reduce the excess cash spent on players which appear not to be the yielding the desired fruits. Imagine buying a top striker like Torres who was bought from Liverpool at the cost of £50m to Chelsea and yet he failed woefully to justify the expenditure.
