To say that we had an incredible weekend would be an understatement! Friday, I taught students in my classroom for the first time in almost a year, and it felt great! Then Saturday was filled with so much excitement! I was surprised by my Godparents, who drove 13 hours to come to the benefit. The benefit, itself, was way better than we could have ever imagined! There were more than a couple hundred people gathered in one place, all for my little Macy and our family. Macy did not disappoint, as she and Cate danced happily all night long. The silent auction was a HUGE success, and was rather fun to watch. Who knew a hog hunt would be so popular?! Macy was crowned Miss Fleur de Cure by the Relay For Life Queen. That was such a sweet moment! The food was delicious, and the music was awesome! So many people gave so much of their energy to this celebration, and we thank you all! Today, we ended our great weekend by attending church as a family, for the first time in 10 months. Now, we recoup, get the kids in a school routine, and prep for my surgery next week. Life continues to be far from normal, but were taking each day one at a time, and it works for us. One thing is for sure now, we dont have the burden on our shoulders about how we were going to make it, with me having to miss work yet again for a big chunk of time. Sometimes God works in mysterious ways, but sometimes His gifts are very clear. This time its very clear to us who His people are, and how loving and giving He made each of you who made this weekend so special for us! Thank you! We love you with our whole hearts!
