To some of yall, this is going to sound crazy. I get that. My Papa Reed used to put a coffee cup in a bowl and then pour his coffee until it ran out of the cup and into the bowl. Then, hed drink the coffee from the cup and when that was done, hed drink the coffee left in the bowl. Ive read about other people from his generation doing this as well. Mama says it was to cool the coffee off. That seems like an awful messy way to cool off coffee. Do any of yall remember your parents or grandparents doing this and do you know any other reasoning behind it? We just might be missing out here! :)
