To start off, Im not one of those people that likes to post personal crap on Facebook but something happened Sunday that got me irritated enough to do it now. Due to family stuff I usually get to the track later than most people. Not a big deal I usually make a pit area or people move over like Rick Morin does and give me enough space. most of the pits were full but there happen to be one next to one of the best RC drivers in the building. Without mentioning names I will refer to her as the RC Queen. The RC Queen was reluctant to have me pit next to her but told me quote You can pit here but if your son starts to annoy me, Im gonna have to ask you to move. Because it sounds ridiculous I thought she was joking. But then she said No, seriously, I cant stand kids, I dont like them and I cant deal with them today. Mind you even though Ive only known this person for 10 or 11 years since Ive been back racing I have a bunch of respect for this person. I never made a rude comment or disrespected this person in any way. As a matter of fact I told my daughter Sarah if she wanted to race she could because one of the best racers Ive ever seen is a young lady and RC racing is not just a boys sport. Well to hear those words come out of the RC Queens mouth kinda floored me. Needless to say I cant guarantee that my 7 year old little boy wouldnt annoy her so I pit somewhere else. Thats the third time this person had words for me, (The last time she was mad at me about my announcing the race she was in and I talked too much) I understand we all have said things during and after races that we might not be proud of so I didnt take those words personally. If the RC Queen doesnt like kids then she is in the wrong businesss and hobby. May I remind this person that she was at one time a young RC driver and I highly doubt any of your dads fellow racer ever uttered those words you said to me and even if they did, he wouldnt put up with it. I would like to know what gives you the right to treat people like that? I would also like to know what my son Mikey did to you? Last time I checked, he runs a different class than you, he doesnt practice with you, and he spends most of the night hanging with the other kids in the party room. I will always act professional during racing, announcing, and marshaling. I wont treat this person any different than anyone else. Dont ever speak to me or my son Mikey ever again because on Sunday, you showed me the person you really are and I I wont put up with it.
