To the Men and Women of the 628th Air Base Wing, Tomorrow is September 11, 2014... September 11, 2001 will always own a place in American History. All of us can recall where we were and what we were doing when the airplanes hit the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Washington DC, and the field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Some of you may have lost friends or family on that fateful day. It changed our Nation, and it changed the way we operate in the United States Military. While the events of September 11th dominate our recent history, it is not the last chapter in America’s story. Our nation exists because Americans had a vision like no other place in the world. They believed in the ideal that every person should be allowed to rise to his or her fullest potential. Your Service is writing that history for our Nation. Please take time to reflect on the events of September 11, 2001. Should you choose, there will be a retreat ceremony at 1630 tomorrow at the Air Base main flag pole on Hill Blvd in honor of those who perished. You may also visit our display of the World Trade Center in the Joint Base HQ as a constant reminder of why we serve. Always remember... Serving All, V/R, Col DeVore
