To the Pirates, Your last game of the season was played and although Im sure you didnt want it to end it did. Hold your heads high and salute the crowd with a bat as if it were a sword for you have made yourselves proud and honored with your performance. You silenced the doubters and the critics and brought a wave of cheers and applause with your achievements. From the first pitch to the last swing you have earned your due reward of not only a winning season but the right to play among the leagues best. Now you can take a breath and relish in the spoils of glory and victory, we didnt need a world series to prove anything, you have proven yourselves winners and champions through the eyes of your fans. The sun sets on this season but not with discord or frustration but rather with the bright glow of next year and the cheers you will hear again. Thank you Pittsburgh Pirates for giving your best and look forward to seeing the Jolly Roger raised next year!!
