To the Teacher of THAT child----So let me provide with an update for that student that I had the privilege of working with 5, 10, 20 and 30 years ago as his social worker aka ( other mother) (I have his permission) Hes doing well; given lifes obstacles and challenges. His upbringing and life circumstances were not his fault but throughout the years and even today we having been working on his choices and responses. ( How do I am a troll on his FB page) I am still part of his village; I became his ally and an ally for his family against a system that wanted incarceration vs education and punishment strategies vs mental health services. I became an advocate for service and support equity not just for him but lots of other scholars in like situations. Lost friends along the way but gained an abundance of knowledge and new family members! He wanted me to let you know that he appreciates you never telling his business, giving him time to answer questions, your patience when he was frustrated, your redirections and 2nd, 3rd, 4th ....chances. He remembers you and your firm kindness and sends his thanks. He is an awesome Dad and partner with his sons school. I call him my bonus son... #unconditional You know who you are if you want to self disclose!! Love ya!
