To the Youth of Nigeria Does it ever strike you that theres no clear-cut destination for this country? Theres nothing like The Nigerian Dream. Neither the leaders nor the citizenry has a clue to where we are headed. Worse still, theres no process in place to lift over 70% of the population out of abject poverty. If China could reduce poverty level by 71% in three decades, who says we can’t achieve the same feat if our leaders are people of character? Unfortunately, our leaders are not true and our economic philosophers are brilliant charlatans. They are sincerely insincere. There’s an ugly fact. The average Nigerian of today is selfish and could do anything to preserve his ‘privileges’ even if millions would perish. The selfishness is the mother of corruption, indiscipline and ethnicity which have crippled the mechanics of the nations progress. We need national de-orientation and re-orientation to achieve mental emancipation which is the first step to national redirection. The keys to this lie in the hands of phenomenal leaders this generation must produce. How long will this stagnation and retrogression continue? Do we continue to complain and not act? That will be counterproductive. We can start from somewhere. It doesn’t take a crowd but a few people to change a nation. If you believe your hands can help to move this nation forward, 2015 is one window to a fresh dawn. Please run for a political office or support those you trust can deliver. Change is only possible when the right people are at the steering. Step forward. Take the risk. Brave the odds. Heal #Nigeria.
