To the best of my knowledge, Ive never asked for anything financial over Facebook. I do think Ive recommended organizations that I trusted for different causes. While on our weekly STS - Service To Servants conference call, Pamm McKee (our STS director on the ground in Liberia) mentioned that one of the real needs brought about by the Ebola crisis is for Infrared Thermometers. No one can go into a government building without having their temperature taken. These non-contact infrared thermometers are perfect for doing this in the safest possible way. Medical clinics (the ones still open) are begging for them as well. The ones that Im seeing online are $25 and up (usually around $50 or more). God has blessed STS with some funds to buy and ship over a box of the thermometers (Shipping for a standard sized cardboard box is over $300). The first thing is to see if anyone has a connection with a U.S. manufacturer or supplier of these who might be willing to give us a good price on up to 50 of them. The second is for anyone who would like to contribute to do so. I can give you the Service To Servants information so that it will be tax deductible. Theres also a pressing need for medical gloves (disposable) as well. We will also try to send some of those as well.
