To the editor from Michael Motto. We pay $175 for a 4-wheel-drive permit per year, which probably translates into at least a $500,000 windfall for the city. Our preference is the Cove over the front beach area. Last year, we were always greeted by a nice young man at the only drive and walk-on entrance. Not here this year! I guess a budget cut. Then we drive down the dirt road and see a trash area whereas the plastic lattice fencing has been broken for at least the past three years. It’s a disgrace. Another budget cut! Now you have to find a place to park without parking two or three deep behind others. But when you look towards the jetty, the strip behind about 12 homes is deemed ‘no parking beyond this point.’ It could easily hold 100 vehicles. Whose beach does this belong to? Read more....
