Perhaps not yesterday or today, but you absolutely beyond question will have to answer for your actions at some point. ~ To the older couple who witnessed and reported the incident: Bless you for stepping up. ~ To the child unable to shop, but was sobbing in the restroom instead after seeing this act of violence: Honey, I promise you, most people do not behave this way. What you saw was not normal. That person has a sickness of the soul. ~ To the mother of the distraught child: You cannot protect her from all the evils of the world. You give her love though. God’s Grace will be sufficient for everything you are not in a position to provide. ~ To the woman abused: Reach out. There are people and groups who will help you. Dig deep inside for courage, even a tiny shred of courage, and then reach out. The first step is the most difficult. It does not matter what he tells you – you do not deserve to be treated disrespectfully. ~ Domestic violence is never ever, under any circumstances, acceptable.
