To the person(s) who broke into one of our storage units in Blowing Rock and stole antique furniture, vintage hats, antique glassware and vases, a sound mixing console, a 1930s phonograph, a 1930s crank wall phone and probaly other things we havent discovered yet, thank you for not taking our Art in the Park canopy and set-up supplies. In order to maintain our faith in humanity (especially in our beautiful village) were assuming you were at a point where you were just so deperate for money that you felt you HAD to commit this act of larceny and youre not just some common thief who makes a living stealing from non-profits. We hope whatever money you get from selling these things helps you get back on your feet. And if it does, and you reach a point where you are more financially secure, please consider donating to a non-profit theatre to make up for it. Most of us (N-P Theatres) dont make a ton of money and our budgets are always tight, and buying props, costumes, set pieces, etc. (like well have to do to replace the taken items) can really eat into those budgets.
