To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted - TopicsExpress

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good. (Titus 1:15-16 NIV) In this scripture Paul is talking about people (specifically teachers of Gods word) who claim to know God and obey His word, but in reality they are only surface followers. You see, on the surface they say the right things, look like a good Christian and pretend to honor God. But their hearts and some of their actions tell another story - in private they are mean, probe to lying, underhanded, and sinful. They do the things they ought not do as if God doesnt see them. We have a world of double minded folks who say one thing but do another. Just because you are a man or woman of God, it does not give you free reign to ACT like a god. No one has to worship anyone but out one and only true God! You will be judged for your actions, even the ones that you think arent seen. We have to live not as surface Christians, but as in depth followers. We must love God with all of our being! We cant go to church on Sunday, clown on Monday and Tuesday, go to Bible study on Wednesday and then sin through Saturday - these are detestable actions and those who indulge are not fit for anything good! That is the scripture, not my words. Therefore let us be pure in heart, mind, body and spirit. Let us do what is good and right (the majority of the time anyway😉) and be obedient to the word. Love one another, be kind, helpful, thoughtful and encouraging. Let us pray for each other, bear one anothers burdens, be truthful, and just be there for each other. Those are the actions of a Christian that God will honor and bless. And THAT really is a VERY good thing...
