WRONG There ARE no regulations that relate to onshore unconventional oil and gas exploitation along with the use of Hydraulic Fracturing. The onshore regs are exactly the same as the offshore regs and they only apply to conventional oil and gas exploitation. Besides, being an ex North Sea drill crew worker, I can tell you that the industry is pretty much self regulated. Here is a perfect example of how the industry is left to It`s own devices. Cuadrilla has been warned by ministers over its performance as a licensee at one of its Lancashire sites.
