To the siblings: I remember too. Aghatise Osazemen I remember too; I remember starting at university, unsure and afraid; exuding a confidence and sureness that was but skin deep as beneath the surface was a scared 17year old. I remember calls at all times ensuring I was well and often times when I lied that I was financially stable; you saw through this and still sent me a little something; ensuring that unlike your own university experience, I did not experience the ruthless life of a Britain without funds. I thank you. I also remember, the innumerable times you introduced me to your friends; who had all heard about me through you.... the pride bursting as I saw you explain my achievements to them- this was a reminder to me ... dont let me down... it was those many introductions that became the silent whispers i heard in the library oh so many nights; whispering ...you can do this... I not only remember, but oh; I am grateful. Osato Novbioba Aghatise when I saw your post lower down on my wall; you omitted one thing; Once upon a time in secondary school; I failed to see the importance of education or doing well and in one assessment I did so badly and hid my results in the play stations bag; long story short, you threatened to beat me up so badly unless I did better in the next set of tests, I was so shaken and scared that fear made me work so hard in the next one; after tasting the fruits of success therefrom, I never looked back!!! Lol!! Every application I did even to university, I remember you revamping my ucas list because the schools were too low on the list for my calibre- a calibre I didnt see at the time but you had already believed in- similarly even till now; advising me on the internships to partake in and those not for me; even my choice of schools for masters- telling me to only apply to the best despite my protests of ..but they are really high :( -an advice I followed and was rewarded for; come September. In one phrase; you have been my guide. They say, a child cannot see standing up what the elders see sitting down! I thank you for seeing for me bro!!! Osayi- my rock! You never knew this but observing your life sowed the seeds of the principles I hold dear today. I remember while you were in Ghana; you always came home with recognition for spreading the word of God; I couldnt understand why I never heard you talking about clubbing or all those things I associated with university. Through this, you inadvertently taught me the most important lesson of all- ... dare to be different, identify your principles and stand on it, shake not for anybody... although I always say I hate shopping; although I complain, its enjoyable when its with you, sister dearest. For indeed you are my rock. It is said that there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother; surely if those friends are your actual siblings too, I wonder what can stick more! I love you osaze, osato and Osayi! More than life itself!
