To the students of American history many get angry at Cortez over what happened in the Aztec Empire but it must be remembered that it wasnt. 200 Spanish that destroyed Tenochtitlan.. it was 200 Spanish and 1000s of native allies all organized by an angry native woman of royal decent who had ended up in slavery and spoke Mayan and Nahuatl.. Hell Hath No Fury Than A Woman Scorned.. Malinalli aka Malintzin aka Malinche was the real reason for the fall of the Aztec Empire.. by all accounts the Spaniards never wanted to attack Mexico City.. who incited the stoning of Motecuzoma and the burning torture and hanging of Cuauhtémoc?.. who was the false prophet that portrayed mortal men to be gods?.. a lot of times the downfall of a social order comes about when the women are oppressed.. just like Rome the Aztec Empire was ultimately destroyed from within.. the conquistadores may have won but they all mourned the fall of the Aztec Empire and the deaths of their noble kings that they had become friends with and admired.. and we can all hate Malinche but what was the cause that made her hate her own people so much that she orchestrated the destruction of their entire civilization?.. its time to start respecting our mothers, sisters, and daughters because i recognize Malinche shes back in the Americas and she is once again very pissed off at the way shes being treated.. -ts
