To the thousands of volunteers who gave their time and talents to our campaign: I would like to personally thank you for the time, effort and prayers you gave to our campaign. We were up against colossal odds - a proverbial David vs. Goliath - and we never could have gotten as far as we did without your help. You are an amazing volunteer and blessed me greatly with your commitment! As a volunteer, you understand that this was never simply about winning a single Senate seat. Nor was this about trying to be a new version of the same old thing. This was about challenging the dangerous notion that, as everyday citizens, we are no longer in charge of our political destiny. This campaign was about restoring our belief in the unique and powerful notion of a government that is of the people, by the people, and for the people. This was about the very heartbeat of America. During our campaign, that heartbeat was indeed quickened, thanks to the support of patriotic Americans like you. Throughout this process, I have been deeply touched and humbled by the faith you put in me. Although the outcome is not what we had hoped for, this is not the end. We must continue to press ahead and remain committed to standing up for the values we hold dear. America is worth it. America has long been a beacon of light in a dark world. Do not let history show that the torch went out on our watch. Thank you for joining me on this journey. I look forward to the possibility of crossing paths with you again in the months and years ahead.
