To those Friends of Gusto Pizza who noticed that we havent been at the Bellingham Farmers Market for the last few Saturdays and who have reached out to us with concern, let me offer a sincere thank you. Ive been recuperating from a modest spinal injury that happened in late October and still cant quite move around yet without some assistance. However, Im optimistic that well be returning to the Bellingham Farmers Market at some point in early December! I wanted to share some pizza photos with you as I often do on the Friday before a market. I cant put up pictures of tomorrows Special Pizza Of The Week as I often do, but since I made this batch of Nutella bread a few months ago from pizza dough leftover from that days market, its got a pizza connection! Its super easy to make using whatever simple dough recipe you favor. After your dough rises the first time, roll it out into a rectangular shape, making sure that it isnt any wider than whatever baking pan youll be using. Brush the dough with melted butter, then spread out a generous amount of Nutella. Keep in mind that Nutella is made from Hazelnuts, cocoa solids and palm oil, so nut allergies could be a consideration. Sprinkle the Nutella with dark brown sugar. Roll the dough up into a spiral and place into a baking pan that youve buttered and floured. Cover with a slightly damp towel then let it rise at room temperature for about 90 minutes. Remove the towel, top with a little more Nutella then place the pan, uncovered, on the middle rack in an oven heated to 375 degrees for about 40 - 45 minutes. Remove from pan and let cool for for 15 minutes. Youll have to eat some right away, of course, but the next morning youll want to warm up a couple of slices in your toaster oven, spread on a little soft butter and eat while sipping strong coffee and reading the morning newspaper. Mmmm. See you in a couple of weeks!
