To those of you who look at my grandchild and see a "slow girl". Let me tell you what I see .I see a 10 year old who has made it 5 years through the public school system and still has pride, although many tried to crush it. I see a girl who defies the odds everyday. I see a girl who was born with the right brain and left brain not able to communicate but still learned. I see beauty and goodness despite her diagnosis.I hope and persaverance. Maybe if you would try to understand her you would see this too. Most kids with agenesis of the corpus callosum and colpocephaly and Dandy Walker are not functioning at 10 let a lone schooling.So think before you speak because your kids pass on to her what you say.Thanks from one proud Mammy!!!
