To those who are journalists and media practitioners and others involved in communication industry we used to have progressive publications like Upbeat,SPEAK,Learn & Teach, New Nation,Spark and others during the Apartheid regime that can critique government where it is wrong and compliment where necessary. Today what happen to progressive journalism whether it is true or not if you listen to people speaking about publications like the New Age and the Weekly to mention just the two as an example they see them as newspapers that are not independent but pushing a bias propaganda of a particular faction. Have we really achieved the transformation of the media sector in South Africa?
