To those who did not agree with my post, I checked and you all passed during the time when the 90% passing rate was the norm for Ateneo. As I said, the times are changing. I understand that what makes an Ateneo Law graduate special is the MAGIS, the special training that we receive that cannot be found anywhere else. However, what will those ateneans who did not make it do with all of that MAGIS? special training? electives? Will it help make up the year that they lost? Will they recover the money that they spent? Will they come out as stronger lawyers? I guarantee you that all of them are as talented, skilled and motivated as I am. They spoke and wrote well. They possessed the ability to comprehend the issues presented in relevant fields of law. They studied their hearts out. They were deemed worthy by many law offices to be underbar associates. And yet, they still didnt pass. As I said, it is a combination of factors, but the blame is not all on the students. Its unfair to pass it all to them. Its unfair to say, if you dont want it the Ateneo way, then go somewhere else. Thats extremely arrogant. You all talk high and mighty, but what if it was your child or your loved one who didnt pass? and you saw them toil through law school and you honestly believe that they deserved it? And then you see them fail an incredibly difficult test just because they didnt read this ONE case, out of the thousands they already read? Wouldnt you ask for a little more from the school, maybe that little edge, maybe a little sign of a willingness to adapt? Thats just my point. - abcd, 2013
