To those who have voted yes or no on the TA, thank you for making - TopicsExpress

To those who have voted yes or no on the TA, thank you for making your voice heard. To those who have yet to vote, please go to a quiet place, stay off social media, avoid asking your co-workers how you should vote. Your co-workers do not know what your personal finacial needs. Go to a quiet place and weigh the information given to you. Your vote is a private choice in which you owe no one an explanation. To those who have voted (whether yes or no), please be supportive of those who have yet to vote and are struggling with how to cast their ballot. Avoid telling them what to do, except; do encourage them to vote. Regardless of the outcome on November 9th, our responsibility as a work force is not done. We have to find a way to mend our differences to either work with implementation of the TA or regrouping for what the panel of arbitrators will decide. Either way, there will be disappointment. It is our responsibility to choose whether we move forward together or divided. No one can determine that except us. Our work is not done as we will prepare for base elections that will be just as critical as voting on this TA. Base elections represent the only opportunity to make change within the APFA structure. It will be our opportunity to begin the process to make all FAs at the New American equal by forgiving dues for those subjected by the Poll Tax. It will be our opportunity to make constitutional changes that put the power of our voices through our base Presidents, to remove and/or balance the amount of independant power of the National President . Its our chance to remove the walls that block communications from our base Presidents to our work force. Base Presidents should have the right to communicate with their members without approval or censorship of the National Communications Chair, APFA Attorney or a PR Firm paid by our dues monies. We will have the opportunity to put constiitutional provisions that prohibit certain ethical practices of elected and appointed leaders with their personal/business relationships with management. It will be our opportunity to make certain that no retiring APFA President accepts perks such as lifetime First Class Travel which places FAs commuting to work at a lower boarding priority. It will be our opportunity as a collective group to take APFA from a Company Organization to a true Labor Union whose goals are to Unite all Cabin Crewmembers and represent all Flight Attendants without predjudice.
