To those who personally know me, youre surely familiar with my daily get-up i.e., almost-fading shorts; shirt that has seen better days and Spartan slippers. Bihis-iskwater is how I termed it. 24 hours before my big day, I went to a bank to claim an ATM card which I never requested in the first place. Me: Hi Miss, am BA and am here to pick up my card... (maybe I should at least thank her that I was somehow worth her attention. She gave me that head-to-foot look before blurting out): Sure ka, ikaw si BA? Moments later, I was in a car dealer shop to pick up my car after its periodic maintenance. Me: Miss, your office called earlier pwede na daw makuha ang unit with plate #___ (she interchangeably glanced at me and the receipt I presented before shifted to that deadpan mode): Sir, ikaw diay gisugo ni Mr. BA...? Big deal...? Not an inch. As my special day is nearing, what counts most is the acceptance from Above, regardless of how I look and what I wear. Wheres my cake...?
