To those yg confused dgn design baju sy pkai,Axis dress Love to Dress...this post is x complete with pic attach at each paragraph, but me attch pic still for viewing ...so anyone nak baca full email frm the designer personally please give me ur email LOVE TO DRESS FULL CLARIFICATION ON AXIS DRESS Salam dear Noor Hasanah, I hope this clarification would be sufficient for you to explain for your friend. It is a test when we feel a friend has accused us of being something that we are not. This is how I feel when someone tells me about the Axis Dress being a sign of a cross. But dont worry, as long as we stick to the Quran and Sunnah, Allah swt will help us. I am reminding myself 1st obviously since I have a lot to improve in this department! And the slaves of the Most Beneficent (Allah) are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with mild words of gentleness . (English - Mohsin Khan) So lets together you and me be patient with people such as your friend and assume that Allah swt wants to give us extra reward in educating people about Islam. Based on the little knowledge that I know, our obligation to Allah is to believe in Him alone. This is what we call tawheed (the Oneness of Allah swt). When we worship Allah swt alone, we accept that Allah swt as our رب (Master) and we as عبد (slave). This means 5 things: We only pray and worship Allah swt and no one else. Nobody will be our middle man or as the Shakespearean language would say intercessor. Our prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him/pbuh) made it very clear that we worship Allah swt directly and not use him (pbuh) or any other man/creature to speak on our behalf. No one is gonna get our backs on the day of judgement except by Allahs permission; That we obey Allah swt above everything else; That we trust Allah in everything; That we love Him above everything else; and That we accept that the terms and condition of our relationship is set by Allah as He is رب (Master) and we as عبد (slave). This is what the العلماء (ulama) has agreed upon as a إجماع (consensus). When we break these 5 rules above, that is when we fall into شرك (Shirk/ associating Allah swt with something or someone else/ menyekutukan Allah swt). Secondly, what is the dress code for Muslim women? Can a woman who adheres to the 5 rules above wear anything that has a design which resembles a cross? What I do know about what we can wear is that it covers the awrah properly and it is clean. The general rule of thumb in Islamic rulings are, everything is permissible in matters of معاملات/mualamat (which includes clothing) except what is clearly prohibited (from the Quran or احادیث/ahadith [compilations of sayings and actions of the beloved prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him]). When I designed the Axis dress, I wanted to design a dress that has the lines to allow mothers to breast feed their children paired with elegant cuts to compliment the way Allah swt has structured the human form. I did not have the slightest idea that a t design is a representation of a cross. What I know about Christianity is - worshipping prophet Isa (peace and blessings be upon him) as God (which breaks all the rules from the above) and if we go along the lines that anything that has a t design is a representation of Christianity, then we shouldnt even be conversing in English or Bahasa Melayu since we use the letter t all the time. Islam is very clear on what Tawheed is. Also, if you go to mosques around KL and the world, you will see this common mosaic Islamic design: The above mosaic Islamic design resembles and is very similar to the spiritual sign of Judaism. Hence you get the Jewish flag or their version of the cross/flag looking something like this. This is called the David (Prophet Daud alaihi salaam) Star and it acts as the Jewish sign: Now you see the design of Axis Dress is like this: But some people see it like this: Can you see what I mean? If the Axis dress is a representation of Christianity, then what do we do about the mosques designs that clearly resembles the Jewish sign? Do we redesigns again all the mosques that have been around for hundreds of years? Or do we avoid mosques like these because they have Jewish sign scattered around them? Based on my Quranic knowledge, it is normal that people have differences in taste, style and opinion, so we have to accept that not everybody is going to like the choices that we make in life, and this is ok. As long as we are clear that we want to please Allah swt based on the Quran and Sunnah and not our own logic, then Allah swt will protect us, no matter what other people say. At the end of the day, we want to please Allah swt and not other people. If what I have said is wrong, then it comes from my own shortcomings and everything that is good, pure and clean from Allah swt. Allah swt knows best. Thank you again sis, for giving me the opportunity to explain. I really appreciate it :-). Best regards, Sumayyah Nasaruddin Business Development Love to Dress, Saudi Arabia.
