To whom it may concern: As I sit in front of my vanity, I stare at my reflection. Finally able to take my crown off and take down my hair. Who is that woman looking back at me in the mirror? Who am I? What have I become? A heart so pure and beautiful; now, so broken and unfixable. Life drained; happiness fled; an emptied shell. All the guises in the world could not hide the ugly monster I have become. I pulled out my pen and paper and began to write a letter. Each letter started off the same, but ended so differently. I don’t know how to what I want to say in words. I can sit and write a thousand times my sorrows, but who cares? My sorrows are my own to bear; my own to balance; my own to solve. Therefore, I will resolve it my own way. I think about everyone I have come in contact with. From the lowly stray creatures to cannibalistic zombies. The leaches that sucked on me to the snakes that bit me and put their poison in me. Ugh, none of this matters. I love and I love. I hurt and hurt. No time to pretend perfection. Perfection is just an imagined perception of a person’s mind. My mask is gone, broken into a million pieces. Honestly, I just wanted to say farewell in the way most comfortable to me. Why have a big celebration when I feel alone in the biggest crowds? Why have a private one where the closets people don’t even know me? Nah, I rather not. The gods have dictated that my life strings should be cut. Every life has a purpose and mine has come and gone. Don’t be fooled! This is a farewell, goodbye, adios and not a see you later kind of thing. I would say I love you all, but it would never matter. Please, don’t cry because life is about all the sorrows we bear. Don’t mourn me; be happy that I’m actually where I want and need to be. Signed an imperfect being.
