To whom it may concern Many months ago, with the help of Wasim Sayeed bhai, a number of Bangladeshi Community Members contacted Senator Alex Gallacher and raised their deep concerns of longer visa processing time than usual who applied for Permanent Residency (visa subclass 887). As such Senator Gallacher wrote to Federal Minister for Immigration mentioning the concerns and various difficulties they face in their Australian life without PR. By this time, few correspondences were taken place between Senator Gallacher and Federal Immigration Minister Office. As per the most recent response, Asst Minister for Immigration mentioned that ‘Immigration Department’ aims processing 75% of visa applications (subclass 887) within six months time however it can take longer due to occasional external checks. Response from Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash (Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection) has been attached herewith. I have shared this info with the wider community members as I believe this is a common concern for many of our community members and they will be interested to be aware of recent updates.
