To whom it my concern; My name is Julie Barone and I recently graduated from Shippensburg University in May 2013 with a degree in Early Childhood Education, PreK-4. I accepted a job with the program Teach For America. This is a non-profit organization that works at title one schools all over America. This organization believes that all children deserve an excellent education and that the color of your skin does not define your future. Their mission statement is, “One day, all children in this nation will have the opportunity to attain an excellent education.” I am currently living in Charleston, South Carolina and will be teaching second grade at North Charleston Elementary School once the school year begins. Here, all the classrooms have a college theme. We believe that all our students should have the opportunity to go to college and preparation for the future starts at an early age. I have selected Shippensburg University to be the theme in my classroom, and I was hoping you could help me! I was told that sometimes colleges can donate different things to use in your classroom that have the college logo on them (pens, pencils, foam fingers, pennants, cups, shirts, banners, flags, magnets etc.). If you could please try to find anything that says Shippensburg University, or Ship, this would be a HUGE help!
