To whom it my concern, Today, my wife and I will go to work, in order to serve and defend a country that we swore to protect. The only thing that will change is, today we will go to work without knowing when we will receive our next paycheck. I know that when we do our next paycheck, we will get compensated for the days we worked. Unfortunately some Americans today will not have that comfort, for they won’t go to work tomorrow and the do not know when they will return to work. Lastly, for those Americans there will not be a paycheck with compensation once they restart their jobs. This issue greatly troubles me for the main reason that us as Americans voted for you to take the positions that you hold, and make this mighty nation operate. However, today you have failed at keeping this nation running; as of midnight the US government closes, because you could not do the job that we elected you to do. I would say this is just a fluke and an oddity, but in the 5 years I have been in the military, this is the third time we were on the brink of shutting down the government. Yet, this is the first time it’s actually happened. October 1st of every year the government has an obligation to the people of America and that’s to insure the fiscal year completes and the next fiscal year begins without any flaws. But, it seems that that date slips your mind or you put it off till the last possible minute. Though, it is my guess if someone was to ask you when is the first day of deer season, first day of football, or when your re-election campaign kicks off, you would most likely know the answer; and it is appalling that’s the truth. The fact simple today you let America and her people down, and you have no one to blame but yourselves. If you we’re in the “real” world working, you would be fired in most cases for what you did. Today, your goal is, how to solve the issue that innocent United State citizens have lost money and confidence in their government. The key to that achieving that goal can only be fixed by you, the ones we put in office; we entrusted you to do what was right… to keep the government running.
