To you, O God of my ancestors, I give thanks and praise, for you have given me wisdom and power, and have now revealed to me what we ask of you, for you have revealed us what the king ordered. ( Daniel 2:23) Daniel was in a tight spot. He needed Gods wisdom; to be shown the kings dream and its interpretation, or he would be executed along with all the other wise men in Babylon. Immediattely Daniel began to pray and ask God for the answers he neded. Imaging what it would have been like to be Daniel. He prayed for extraordinary wisdom from God, received it, and had the presence of heart and mind to stop and give thanks to God before rushing in to the king with his answer. (This should be our prayer today: Father, I often ask you for things in the heat of the moment, in the urgency of my need. Help me be as quick to give you thanks for the answers you send. In Jesus name we pray! Amen)
