Today 171 years ago the Great Emigration began on the Oregon Trail. One thousand settlers began a trek with a massive wagon train. While this was made famous from history lessons and even one of the first computer games, the trail only lasted a few years as it was abandoned due to railroads. This involved tremendous risk for those willing to take the journey.
