Today, 5 December, is International Volunteer Day -- a day to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions that volunteers from all walks of life make to development around the world. Vanuatu hosts more than 30 Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVIDs) each year, who work with local counterparts in sectors such as health, education, governance, disability, sport and more. This week, we also welcomed to Vanuatu a new batch of Youth Challenge Australia volunteers, who are teaming up with Youth Challenge Vanuatu volunteers to work on community projects in Tanna, Santo and Epi over the next six weeks.
