Today Angel was intubated for the scope and liver biopsy and, - TopicsExpress

Today Angel was intubated for the scope and liver biopsy and, later in the day, MRIs. He is finally back in his room and we are working on extubating him. He is super asleep and stable all day during the procedures. A huge blessing. We havent had any results from the tests yet. His intestine is about as injured as it could be. We know it isnt working because nothing is coming through it. (No stool for 8 days now.) The liver biopsy went well and the tissue was pink and soft... Hopefully an indicator that it is not too damaged despite pretty high liver numbers and jaundice right now. The MRIs were to see how the blood flow is to the liver to see if it could get enough oxygen if the intestines were removed. Well find out tomorrow. So. It was a successful day of stable and information gathering. Sometimes stepping back and looking at the prognosis, percentages and probability for Angel can be overwhelming. When we come to crossroads like we are (and were many times through chemo and before) it is necessary to look at the future and its grim possibilities. Truthfully, though? The predicament we are facing is not much worse than what he has faced many times. A little more pressing, maybe. He has faced and beat worse. We know how serious this is. Yet we know our boy and our God and what they have done together. Hope is not gone. One step at a time.
