Today Asa and Stephanie are at the gates of Crestwood risking arrest for the second time to defend Seneca Lake from an attack by a Texas oil company. Seneca Lake is our shared and treasured natural resource, in the heart of the Finger Lakes, and the Crestwood gas storage expansion project there threatens to industrialized the whole area. This would be devastating to the currently thriving food and wine economies. We have called our elected representatives and have been repeatedly told they have not developed a statement on this issue. The FERC has granted the permit for methane gas storage and the DEC has released a draft permit for LPG storage. With no further recourse we feel we must turned to nonviolent civil disobedience to protect our home from the dangers of this expansion. Our government is failing to protect us and this valuable natural resource. Crestwood is Texas oil company looking to turn this area into what they tell their investors will be the gas storage hub of the northeast. We are joined by many local musicians and residents as we celebrate the strength of our community with the music of the Finger Lakes. Life is water, water is life, and we will not let this stand. We Are Seneca Lake
