Today. Church Green Road. 10.40 ish. Driving school yellow C3 Citroen. Practices an emergency stop right in front of my pupil. 3 car lengths clear. On a driving test when you are asked to do an emergency stop, the examiner explains what he wants from you and then will tell you that he will look behind to make sure it is safe to perform the exercise. If there is anything behind they will abort the exercise and do it later when the road behind is clear. If you slam your brakes on for no apparent reason and you get rear ended you are as liable and at fault. TRAINING for an emergency stop on a busy Bletchley road with other traffic around is pretty dim. DRIVING INSTRUCTORS SHOULD KNOW BETTER. IF YOU DID THAT ON A CHECK TEST YOU WOULD BE IN IT UP TO YOUR NECK. I spoke to a traffic policeman I know and he said if it were to be done in front of him, the instructor would be looking at careless or even dangerous driving. FOR GODS SAKE THINK.
