Today, December 22nd, in the mist of another warm spell, I paid a visit to the Paradise Road area of the Santa Ynez River, Santa Barbara, CA. Unfortunately most areas were closed due to recent mudslides. I did, however, make it to both Upper and Lower Oso. I was quite surprised at how many odes were flying at the latter spot. Here are cumulative totals: California Spreadwing (15+), Great Spreadwing (3), Vivid Dancer (1), Variegated Meadowhawk (17+), and a Common Green Darner.
