Today Devotion Topic: More Closer To SOON Than They! Text: Luke 16: 29- 31 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’ “‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’. He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ AMEN Joe borrowed money from his trusted friend, Sam. Sam asked, when are you paying back?. Joe replid, soon!. Then Sam jokingly remarked, dont be like Jesus! How soon is your soon?. This is a common remark even Christians make. A closer look at this remark tells us how lightly Christians today take the coming of our Lord Jesus. We seem to have forgotten that, if indeed Jesus said He would come back, 2000 years on brings this generation closer to the SOON than the generation of Paul and James. He says His coming shall be like that of a thief in the night. Recognise how close the much talked about SOON is. If we are waiting for someone to rise from the dead and tell us heaven & hell is real before we believe, well then we might as well forget it. God knows all who are waiting for that to happen are not ready to change. Why is it easier to believe the Bible when it says we shall be the head and not the tail, but not where it says it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this, Judgment?. Why do we need a sign from the after-life to believe the later, when we didnt require any such prove to believe the former? Well, get ready CHURCH, for Jesus is coming SOON! Judgement will begin from the house of the Lord. Have you asked Jesus into you life yet? Are you cleansed in the blood of the lamb? Are we winning that lost soul for the Lord? When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more, And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair; When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore, And the roll is called up yonder..., Will You Be There?
