Today Dr. U R Ananthamurthy, renowned Kannada writer & Jnanpeeth award winner, is not with us. Dr. U R Ananthmurthys demise is an irreparable loss not only to Karnataka but also to India. We all know about his enormous contributions to Kannada literature. I offer my heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family. I pray to God to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and to give courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude. In addition, I also pray to God that good sense prevails over those who celebrated his death just because he had made a statement during 2014 loksabha elections, which he subsequently retracted, that he would leave the country if Narendra Modi won the election and became the Prime Minister of India.
