Today God made a life-saving connection, and we are putting the rest of the story in His hands. This week a tiny little girl named Betchaisna came to Hope Center Clinic. We call her Betsy (or Bitsy as Anna Bess Simmons calls her). She is 6 months old and barely weighs 6 pounds. Last year, many of you prayed for her brother David who also came to the clinic severely malnourished. We have been giving his family baby formula nearly every week for over a year. It is clear that neither child gets much food or stimulation. In desperation, we began to search for help. We cried out to God to guide us to someone who could help sweet Betsy. The very day they came in the clinic, I had made a new friend on Facebook through a Medical Missions page I belong to. She runs an organization called ReImagine Haiti. They have a malnutrition program that allows mothers to come alongside their children and learn to care for and feed their children. My friend Brittany Joy Hilker immediately responded with YES!! Bring them on!! So Tony, Vladimir, Anna Bess, and I met them today in Port au Prince to enroll Betsy, her brother David, and their mother Djena in the Malnutrition Program at ReImagine Haiti. We are so very thankful for Brittany and her staff who will be working with this mother and her children to bring them all to good health. Our God is an awesome God, and he sees our struggles, hears our prayers, and moves our feet. Please lift Betsy, David, Djena, and Brittany up. I look forward to watching their progress!!
