Today I am 40 and I am grateful to God for allowing me to see this birthday. I have learned a lot and gained wisdom through pain and general life lessons. Ive learned that mistakes are not failures but simply Gods way of pointing me in a different direction. Ive learned to observe and speak less. Ive learned to pray through and about all things because leaving it with God is the best thing. Ive learned that I cannot control everything and that surrender is what God requires. Ive learned that I control my outcome. Ive learned that in order to get where you want to go in life you have to jump and take risks. Ive learned to accept people for who they are with no judgement. Ive learned that the greatest gift is truly love because love can break through anything! Ive learned that I have a purpose in this life and its my responsibility to make it happen. Ive leaned that I must grind to get it done because it wont just happen! Ive learned that there are people who I had to let go in order to move forward on my path...and its ok. Ive learned that when people show you who they are its a good thing to believe them. Ive learned that no matter how many wrong turns I make in life God is always there to redirect me. Ive learned that the key to being a great wife is not focusing on my husbands faults but working on Kimberly. Ive learned that having a child is a privilege and I must be a good steward over my beautiful daughters life. Ive learned that friendship of self is the best gift I could give myself. Ive learned that everything I have gone through in life has given me the ingredients I need to maneuver in life. Ive learned that worrying about what others think is not my priority. Ive learned that being a light is better than kicking others when they are down. Ive learned that everything we go through is for us but mainly for others because we are more connected than we think. Ive learned that my very small circle of friends are one of many of Gods amazing gifts to me. Ive learned that vulnerability doesnt equate to weakness but is truly the beauty of strength! Ive learned that I am one of a kind and that comparing myself to others is an insult to God, so instead I choose to love me. Ive learned that some things are a process but it doesnt mean a set back. Ive learned that my journey looks way different than others and I dont have to explain that to anyone. Ive learned that my relationship with God is what brings me security and shapes me into the woman I am today. Ive learned that the prayers of my great-grandparents and grandparents is what keeps me every day! Ive learned the importance of keeping that legacy alive and teaching my daughter to connect with God through prayer. Ive learned that its important to have fun in life because happiness is great medicine. God, thank you for allowing me to see my 40th birthday because there are many who didnt see theirs. Thank you for believing in me when I didnt believe in myself. Thank you for being my compass and constantly showing me the direction I should go!
