Today I am going to check in at 11:45 at Sanford so Dr. Bell and a radiologist can perform a procedure called Caris Testing. I just found out about a week ago as I went in for another CT Scan as I was having some problems. :( My CA 125 has climbed up a little more but thankfully the CT Scan showed little or no change in the tumor. This new testing is very exciting. They deaden the area where the tumor is and then they go in with a big needle and get a biopsy-it is called a guided biopsy. I will be on a CT Scan table while they do the procedure. They will used the CT Scan to pin point the tumor. Once the procedure is done I will lay flat on my back for 4 hours and they will monitor me. They wont put me under but they will give me some happy meds to keep me comfortable. As long as I stay in town they will discharge me. BUT the exciting news about this testing is when they send the biopsy (I believe it goes to AZ) to the lab, they test it with many chemos/meds to see which one works the best to get rid of it. Then a board of highly educated oncologists (which includes Dr. Bell) get together and discuss my case. After they go over my case, Dr. Bell with bring back the info and discuss it with Lee and I and we will proceed with what is best for me. The treatment that we go ahead with might not be a treatment they can do in Sioux Falls-which doesnt matter I am willing to go around the world to get rid of this. So we are very excited for this new testing and I am very fortunate to have one of the best Doctors right here in Sioux Falls. We will find out in 2 to 3 weeks what the situation is. Once again I am asking for prayers as they have helped me out so many many times. Thank you for always supporting me!!
