Today I am going to share with you something dramatic. I would not - TopicsExpress

Today I am going to share with you something dramatic. I would not otherwise share such material, but it has to do with the fan mail from....Christians. Now, I understand and sincerely hope that you do not belong into such company. But the question remains - why do it? Does it help anyone to come closer to Jesus? Does it reflect the face and kind nature of our God? Is it an attempt to preach the gospel? Bible tells us in Romans 2:4 that it is the goodness of God that leads the men to repentence. Now, will such correspondence portray God in any positive way? I understand, it may have to do with the frustration of the writers. But do we have to express such frustration and doesnt it work against the redeeming and enlightening purpose of Christ, instead. People, even atheists, are still seeking. They may be seeking from all the wrong places, but they may end up at the right place, eventually. Even C.S. Lewis who wrote a lot of good Christian books, had a period in his life where he proclaimed that he was an atheist. If you even google atheist turns to God you will find several books and descriptions of the cases where such people who have been seeking the answer to their argument, have suddenly come to a realisation about the existence of God. They have dedicated all their lifetime for one cause, after all - trying to prove that there is no God. So, maybe it is better to encourage them, and pick up the little bits where they have as if got it and help them get closer to God. Or, maybe we may want to pray for them and let the Holy Spirit do His work within their hearts. Never underestimate the power of the prayer. I must sadly say that the fellow-Christians who preach in such a way, are simply very vocal and express their frustration at the expense of other Christians whose ideas may differ from theirs as well. As the above mentioned has been made unto a public knowledge, now the question is how to undo the damage such preaching of hate has caused? As it all goes eventually back to the Creator, who does not resemble such, and who has been represented very poorly. We may say that the world is mocking and laughing at Christians anyway. Yes, it is so, but not necessarily. At least we should not give them a justified reason to do so, for all the wrong reasons. And this definitely is a wrong reason. We can add to it several others like portraying hatred against the representatives of other religions and races, Government officials and so on....to mention a few. Yesterday I happened to answer one middle-level minister who has been very vocal about her dislike of President Obama. She expressed her feeling regarding his reception of a goofy-looking lady who ate cereal out of a bathtub. For whatever reason she was doing it, lets leave that aside. But, the fact remained that her agitated feeling had to do with the visit of the Israeli PM, and the disappointment that the President of the United States had met with the mentioned lady instead. Even the Fox News specialists had risen to a new, and more professional level, and pointed out that it was not right to take such visit where the White House had not been previously informed as a State visit. The former US Ambassador in Israel warned the Israeli PM against such step which could have easily been construed in a wrong way - as an election propaganda, as the visit took place 2 weeks before the opening of the election polls. The decision was his. But why blame President Obama when it all happened unknown to him and he did not issue an official invitation, and his cabinet was never even informed of it - it is natural that people, especially the ones in charge, have their own schedule and things have to be co-ordinated previously. I tried to share the Jerusalem Post article about the opinion of the former US Ambassador in Israel regarding the matter, and I tried to tell that a well-known preacher T.D.Jakes has been sharing the gospel and praying with and for the President Obama, but it fell on deaf ears, and the conclusion was quick - if you defend the given President and do not join in calling him names, you must be the antichrist and a Muslim:) And T.D.Jakes was portrayed in very dark colour and taken as the same. Well, let us leave that for God to decide. But such outbursts of energy, although they happen for we are all humans, are totally unnecessary and express simply our own fleshly thinking and feelings if to go a step further now and send such missives to the objects of our frustration like it happened in the video I have shared here. We have a right for our opinion, but it might be more beneficial to try to express it in Godly ways, which honour Him and His Word, as to wording and reasons. If persecution happens, then let it happen for all the right reasons - for the Spirit of the Lord rests upon us - 1 Peter 4:14 ► New International Version If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. 1 Peter 4:15 ► New Living Translation If you suffer, however, it must not be for murder, stealing, making trouble, or prying into other peoples affairs. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 ► New International Version I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people-- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. Acts 23:5 ► New International Version Paul replied, Brothers, I did not realize that he was the high priest; for it is written: Do not speak evil about the ruler of your people.
