Today I am jumping for JOY and counting my continued blessings!!! FINALLY, the weight has been lifted! Yes it is JUST a job, and there are countless more important things in life. Even so, I cannot begin to describe how thrilled I am to accept a position as a Biomedical Engineer at the Milwaukee VA!!! 2 years ago, I left a job that I LOVED with an AWESOME family of co-workers in an effort to choose my own destiny rather than be forced into a merger of sorts. While I sincerely wish the best for every one of my old co-workers, I chose an opportunity for a different path. At the time of the decision 2 years ago, it was possible I would have to relocate after 2 years if there wasn’t a position in Milwaukee for me. Even facing that relocation decision (and who wouldnt want to move somewhere warmer anyway), and a pay cut, I tossed and turned a few nights (ok more than a few) and decided to take the job. While I have never regretted my decision, today is OFFICIALLY the day this opportunity proved to be one of the BEST decisions of my life!!! I think my boss likes me ;-). He worked to justify a new position for me, the national engineering board accepted my credentials, and the previous cut in my pay turned into a nice raise! Blessed to have a more financially secure future for my boys :-D
