Today I am reading day 138 of Praise In the Presence of God: Think Again The Greek word for repent is metanoeo, which is a construct of the words meta meaning “after” and noeo meaning “to think.” In other words, repentance is a decision on our part to “think again”—literally to have a change of mind that leads to a change of action. It is a decision to turn around and pursue another path. Repentance is a deliberate act of the will as we decide to turn around and follow God’s way instead of our own. Although repentance may involve emotion, it is primarily an act of volition.
