Today I am remembering Dr. Martin Luther King with tremendous love, respect, and awe. Dr. King spoke potent truth to a world that was so used to living a lie. Dr. King opened up Americas eyes to finally see the utter abomination taking place in the Land of the Free. Dr. King brought hope, freedom, and redemption to a people who were bitterly and undeservingly oppressed and enslaved. Dr. King is one of my personal heros and role models. These are some powerful quotes on Israel, which Dr. King proudly proclaimed in his unique and potent poetic beauty. “I say, let the truth ring forth from the high mountain tops, let it echo through the valleys of God’s green earth: When people criticize Zionism, they mean Jews—this is God’s own truth.” Peace for Israel means security, and we must stand with all our might to protect her right to exist, its territorial integrity and the right to use whatever sea lanes it needs. Israel is one of the great outposts of democracy in the world, and a marvelous example of what can be done, how desert land can be transformed into an oasis of brotherhood and democracy. Peace for Israel means security, and that security must be a reality I pray that we will all take a few moments today to reflect on the messages of Dr. King and internalize them deeply. If we all fought for freedom the way that this brave man did, and if we all spoke such truths as this hero did, the light of the free world would have a much stronger voice in this ever increasing dark world. Dr. Martin Luther King, you are gone but certainly not forgotten.
