Today I am thankful for religious freedom. I have a devotional book that I read from each day from Voice of the Martyrs entitled Extreme Devotion. Today I read about a youth pastor in the Sudan whose village was attacked by Muslim extremist. They were there to convert everyone to Islam. The youth pastor was captured and beaten for seven days. He was then released and told not to preach again. He obeyed Jesus and was arrested again. He again refused to accept the Islam religion. As he was witnessing to his captors, they threatened to beat him but instead decided to pour acid on his hands. I often think how weak of a Christian I really am. Could I have withstood the torture and not denied Christ. Lord, help me to be a bold witness for you. Thank you for loving me and thank you for our religious freedoms in America.
