Today I announced that my campaign has filed over 5,000 signatures with the State Board of Elections to create the “Tax Relief Now” independent ballot line. I’m proud to have received over 5,000 signatures from voters of all parties including Democrats and Republicans from Dutchess and Putnam counties who want to continue to share my message to Albany that we need further tax relief now, not political rhetoric. This grassroots effort will give my re-election further reach to continue the fight to repeal the regressive MTA payroll tax and 18-A utility tax, reform how our education system is funded and end Albany’s culture of unfunded mandates to bring about long-term property tax relief. It will also help build upon my successes during my first term such as expanding the 0% manufacturing tax credit to Dutchess and Putnam counties and voting to deliver $1.5 billion in property tax relief for hard working businesses and families in New York State.
