Today I asked my students the following questions. 1. Who won the Civil War? 2. Who is the Vice-President of the United States? 3. Who did we (the U.S.) gain our independence from? And in what year? 4. What (television) show is Snooki on? 5. Who is Brad Pitt married to? And who was he married to before that? Out of 25 students here are the results. 1. 19 correct. I gave credit for USA but not America. 2. 12 3. a. 15 Three students answered France. b. 12 I gave credit for 1764. Answers included 1967, 1492, 1800s, 1877, 1808, 1900, and 1872. 4. 15 5. a. 16 b. 6 Out of these 25 students 3 voted yesterday. I did not ask these questions of my afternoon class but 5 out of those 17 voted. I got the idea to do this from this video: youtu.be/yRZZpk_9k8E
